Search & Rescue Dogs

What job would you do for free?

This is my Friday morning job. No pay, but lots of licks and the chance to work with some of the most highly trained dogs in the country! It takes around 2 years to train a dog and handler to do SAR. It’s not easy, lives can depend on the dog’s ability to find a person, or sadly a deceased person. We work in conjunction with the police, often 4 dogs searching terrain that would take the efforts of dozens of searchers.

I do this for nothing, doing something for free that can save a life is a great feeling.

I doubt my other dream job as cake quality controller will ever happen…..
