Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?

Those of you that know a little of what I did to earn a crust will know I play sax to make a living as well as write books.
So yes, I’ve done a few gigs and continue to do so! Here’s the current band which is booked over Xmas and New Year and into 2026 as well. Hep n’ Swingin’— a specialist Vintage Dance Band for dancers.
I’m meant to be retired—when Covid struck I decided it was time to hang up my spurs and stop playing professionally. There was no work anywhere so it seemed sensible. I started writing at that point and did my first book about my experiences on the Camino de Santiago.
Then, after a couple of years everybody decided it was time to party again, and the phone started ringing! So now, I’m as busy as I ever was, but only doing the gigs I want to! Nice if you can do it like that.
I love to perform and entertain but I’m not much for speeches, I let the music do the talking, any genre, or style.
Those of you that know Ronnie Scott’s in London may not know that he wrote a very humorous short book about his Club and how it started. Perhaps I could emulate that with another memoir about my antics performing over the years. Watch this space!
Great post! I bet the Ronnie Scott book is interesting
