What is your favorite restaurant?
As much as I would like to, I just cannot afford to eat out. My budget is tight enough without even take-aways.
I am the nouveau poor, a pensioner who didn’t have a well paid job. I am lucky as I have a military pension, but even that is squeaking like a mouse sliding down a razor blade using his b**ls as brakes in this economy.
So eating out is off the menu—I press my nose against the window and look in, dribbling at the lucky rich folks chucking their money away on overpriced prettily decorated dishes.
It’s a good job I can cook, not cordon bleu, but healthy filling meals, fuel to keep me going without the bull and blather.
To be brutally honest, I never enjoyed eating out anyway, so even if I had the money, I doubt I would have.
Each to their own. I’ve played sax in more restaurants than I ever ate in!
