Can you come out to play?

What was the last thing you did for play or fun?

Every day is playtime now—I’m retired!

I’ve jumped off the treadmill and I’m a happy hamster

So I do the things in life that I want to do.!

Music, I play in a band that gigs for dancers, There’s me in front of the stage playing the saxophone!

I write books and get my long suffering band mates to read them…..thanks guys for your support!

Then there’s my faithful pooch Lily. I’d like to say we walk miles together, but we manage a couple of miles every day at least!

I’m a lover of medieval history ever since walking the Camino de Santiago 20 years ago. I married walking, history and writing together to write a growing collection of books about Friar Guillaume and his adventures on the trails of Europe in the 13th Century.

I write this blog in the middle of the night every night, following the medieval practice of first and second sleeps.

Have a look at what Wikipedia says about it here. Insomnia may have some roots in this practice.

I do loads of stuff and often wonder if I should get a proper job like normal people. I tried it once, didn’t go well— the scars have almost healed now!

I’ve spent my life playing, responsibly and within the bounds of acceptable behaviour most of the time. There were weird times involving alcohol but I’m over that now.

So get out there and play! Chuck the office desk out of the window pull off the suit and go play in the mud!
