How have your political views changed over time?
Yes, my political views have certainly changed over time.

I’ve gone from complete indifference to outright loathing. My charming picture of a frog sums up a politician. Sorry if I’ve insulted any frogs or frog huggers out there.
I’m afraid I haven’t anything good to say about politicians, so I’ll leave it there. Frogs however, they are something higher up the evolutionary scale and worth a mention.
In the old farmhouse garden there is a well which was capped after a cow fell down it around 100 years ago. It fed an underground water storage tank which is under the lawn. This tank is huge, about the size of a London Bus. It stores all the rainwater and well water which gets used for watering the garden, flushing toilets and other mundane watery tasks.
The water is drinkable, very pure. It is advisable to boil it however as it is shared by a family of frogs. There may be other things live in there too, in 20 years I’ve never really paid them much attention, they don’t bother me, so live and let live.
Spring is the only time I see any evidence of their existence, as the tadpoles grow into baby frogs, and for a day there are tiny frogs all over the place, even in the house itself. As suddenly as they appear, they’re gone again, like a hallucination. Nature is truly wonderful and mysterious too, much more interesting than politics.
So if you’ve stuck with me so far, then you’ve learned that I have more interest in the frogs in my water tank than any politician that may lurk in its darkest corners. Happy New Year! X
