What is your all time favorite automobile?

This Mini—not the monstrosity that is currently being sold. The original Mini of 1959 vintage, It was a revolutionary design and the original front wheel drive is the forefather of nearly all vehicles produced today.
I owned and rebuilt several of these over my lifetime, the most memorable being a highly modified Mini Cooper S that would do well in excess of 100mph. At that speed you weren’t looking at the speedo anymore, you were hanging on for grim death as the ground flashed by 2 or 3 inches beneath you.
It was a sad day when in 2000 the last one rolled off the production line, 41 years after it first jumped onto the road.
It was a fun car to drive, from an era when motoring was fun and an adventure still. Now? I wouldn’t cry if every car was scrapped. Modern cars are a blot on the landscape and we’d be better off without them pollution-wise, except my dear old Mini—we can all drive Minis instead!
They look so very tiny now. Cute x
They certainly do!
The problem with cars is that they’ve become a necessity – and that they look like it. They look like people who hate their job and are on their way to work.
