If you had the power to change one law, what would it be and why?
To be honest, our judicial system is still one of the finest in the world. It’s a shame that politicians are allowed anywhere near it. It seems that any idiot with a silver tongue can creep in now. It should have an age limit for starters—too many youngsters. It should be voluntary, or paid a minimum wage. No expenses or other perks, no lobbying. I need a big law, a giant size one, not a tiny law change.
So it’s a great system, just a shame we’ve let too many power hungry, money grabbing, greedy people in there. It’s attracting the wrong sort of characters.
So my giant size law change would be to dissolve parliament, kick out the politicians, take the Civil Service and kick it around the quad a bit, see what falls out, and start again, top to bottom, minimum wage, no perks. Let’s see who still wants a job in government then……
