What cities do you want to visit?
Lincoln City in Lincolnshire is the finest city I know which is nice, as it’s not too far from where I live.
The commercial high street I don’t particularly care for, but the older part of the city, especially the Cathedral, is well worth a visit, along with the Castle.
Apart from that, I don’t want to visit any others, thank you. I love to visit once every 5 years or so, and then it’s the Cathedral I’m interested in. The shops all look the same to me, so I don’t bother with them. Hate shopping, no money anyway.
The Cathedral is a fabulous sight though, dominating the skyline. I can see it from the next village to mine, 20 miles away
It was the tallest structure in the known world until 1548, when its spire collapsed. It was built in 1092 initially but has been added to and modified for centuries. 950 years old, remarkably still standing.
If you get a chance, pay it a visit, get a guided tour round and you’ll remember it all your life. It must be worth it if it’s still there after nearly a thousand years!
