Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.
Why on earth would I have a favourite pair of shoes?

I mean, really? I have good boots, sensible shoes, yes.
I’ve walked thousands of miles and one pair of walking boots did over a thousand miles, probably 700 miles on the Spanish Camino alone. I still have those boots but they’re worn out and let water in now. But they’re not favourites. They’re not living things. They were good boots, full stop.
I saw someone crying, because their boots were stolen on the Camino, while they slept. I think it was more the prospect of having to walk in shower flip flops for a hundred miles to the nearest city. Ouch, I’d cry too.
I hope the thief got blisters.
Do these tribes that go barefoot have a favourite pair of shoes? No, but maybe they have a favourite toe instead.
I remember seeing a guy in North Africa whose calloused sole was actually thicker and tougher than my Vibram sole boots. They drop off eventually— the calloused bits, not their foot. You could say he was attached to it in a special way.
I collect my coat on the way out…..
