What is your favorite animal?

Dogs are definitely number one!

Penguins and Elephants are second and third. I have a weakness for bears too.

Chickens are pretty high up there though:

Two of the 15 or so that give me eggs all year round. They’re also fun to watch, going about their chickeny ways.

Lily and I will spend some summer days just sitting watching them scratch about. They’re all rescues from intensive farms so I feel good about seeing them run free! I haven’t owned a bear or penguin.

Here’s one in the woods near me… don’t panic it’s a plastic one….somebody with a sense of humour must have put it there. I think it’s a target for the local archery club. I think trying to shoot a real bear with a bow and arrow could go seriously wrong for both bear and archer.

Never owned an elephant. Poo picking for a big dog is bad enough. I will admire from afar.

Penguins are great as long as you stay upwind. How can anything so cute smell so bad? Individually they’re not so bad, but in a colony they do whiff a bit.

There you have it then, keep your cats, they own you, not vice versa. Reptiles? Yuk. Spiders? No way on this earth!
